Chaos erupted at a Brewton, Alabama elementary school’s holiday bash when what should have been a joyful kindergarten Christmas celebration turned into a scene straight out of a crime drama.
Cops say Karima Frasier, a 26-year-old mom, found herself in handcuffs after allegedly slipping marijuana into the festive goody bags passed out to kids at Brewton Elementary on December 18.
According to WALA, the shocking incident came to light when a fellow parent got a nasty surprise: upon inspecting their child’s treat bag at home, they discovered it wasn’t just sweets inside – traces of marijuana were mixed in with the candy. The concerned parent wasted no time alerting school officials, who promptly called in the authorities.
Police descended on the school and confiscated several clear bags packed with assorted candies, now evidence in a case that has left the community rattled. Investigators say Frasier distributed the drug-laced treats during the kindergarten classroom party—a grim twist to what was supposed to be a magical holiday gathering.

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office snapped Frasier up the following day. She now faces serious accusations: distributing a controlled substance to minors and chemical endangerment of a child. While there’s no indication any children ate the tainted sweets or became ill, school bosses are breathing a sigh of relief. Brewton City Schools Superintendent Kevin Wiessman praised the quick police action that kept kids safe from harm.
As the investigation continues, Frasier is being held on a hefty $300,000 bond, according to jail logs. It’s a Christmas party this Alabama town won’t forget anytime soon.
