Nicki Minaj has sent shockwaves through social media after mysteriously axing her Instagram account in the wake of a firestorm over her jaw-dropping appearance at the ultra-right Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest 2026.

It all went down on Sunday, the final crescendo of the conservative marathon, where the hip-hop superstar, 43, unexpectedly took the stage alongside Erika Kirk, widow of slain activist Charlie Kirk, leaving America gobsmacked.

Minaj, draped in controversy, stunned the crowd by gushing over former President Donald Trump and his right-hand man, Vice President JD Vance. She swooned over Trump’s looks—yes, really—calling him ‘handsome’ and ‘dashing’ and praised both leaders’ soulful spirit. ‘This administration has heart and soul, and I’m genuinely proud of them. JD Vance inspires me too—I love both men,’ she declared, not holding back. She doubled down on her defiance, saying she’s tired of being pushed around for voicing bold opinions. According to Minaj, people these days just aren’t thinking for themselves anymore.

Nicki Minaj takes the stage with Erika Kirk at the Phoenix Convention Center during the final day of AmericaFest on Dec. 21, 2025.

Erika Kirk, who took the reins at Turning Point USA after her famous husband was tragically assassinated last September, championed Minaj for her gutsy appearance despite the massive pushback from Hollywood. Minaj brushed off any entertainment industry backlash with a dramatic shrug, quipping, ‘We don’t even think about them,’ to which Kirk replied they were too busy ‘building’—a sentiment Minaj hyped up as ‘being the cool kids.’

But Minaj’s fanbase? They weren’t having it. The reaction was immediate and brutal, with X (formerly Twitter) erupting in accusations that the rapper had switched sides for cash. ‘If you needed money, just say so,’ sneered one user. ‘Your career is finished,’ jabbed another. A third deadpanned, ‘You picked the wrong team!’

It’s not the first time Minaj’s Instagram has vanished. As eagle-eyed followers recalled, the ‘Beez in the Trap’ hitmaker previously ghosted the platform back in October, leaving fans scrambling for answers. Her X profile, however, is still buzzing with activity. The Independent says they’re waiting on an official word from Minaj’s camp.

Minaj’s political flip-flop has left some scratching their heads. Not long ago, the Trinidadian-born diva was a vocal critic of Trump, even throwing lyrical shade at him for his immigration stance—’Island girl, Donald Trump want me go home.’ In 2018, she was front and center condemning his harsh border policies, sharing her own story as a 5-year-old child coming to the US undocumented. But now? She’s singing a whole new tune—and the backlash is deafening.
