Candace Owens devoted a recent podcast episode to two threads: what she says Charlie Kirk was doing inside Turning Point USA (TPUSA) shortly before his death, and unresolved questions she believes surround the investigation.

On TPUSA, Owens says Kirk raised internal concerns about finances a week before he was killed. She cites an internal memo dated September 2 in which Kirk named fundraiser Justin Strife chief operating officer and empowered him to lead a small “Doge” (efficiency) initiative. According to the memo Owens read aloud, the team’s mandate was to make TPUSA “more efficient,” “more cost-effective,” align goals with metrics, and “reshape company culture.” Owens frames this as Kirk preparing a mini-audit to examine where money was going and, she adds, where it was coming from. She says multiple insiders have since contacted her with tips about vendors, contracting practices, and potential conflicts, and she claims outside journalists have engaged forensic accountants to review TPUSA finances.

Turning to the shooting, Owens highlights a viral video by “Range Day Bro” that argues Kirk was shot from behind. She says two elements in that video can be debunked based on higher-quality footage she obtained: what looked like blood spatter at the moment of impact was actually Kirk’s necklace whipping upward, and a supposed muzzle flash appeared to originate from a window that doesn’t open. A third element—a “suspicious” bush shape that could conceal a person—she says she cannot confirm or refute and is seeking comparable images from the scene.

Owens also questions aspects of law enforcement’s response. She says the videographer who captured the only clip of a figure sprinting across a roof seconds after the shot was never contacted by federal or local investigators in the immediate aftermath. She adds that a separate tipster who filmed a person climbing toward the roof wasn’t contacted by federal agents until days later. To her, these omissions suggest a hurried conclusion; she argues authorities have pushed a “lone gunman” narrative despite evidentiary gaps.

She repeatedly urges TPUSA to release all surveillance footage it controls, arguing that transparency would help the public and could exonerate the organization if speculation is unfounded. At the same time, Owens asks viewers to show restraint toward individuals now leading the group. She defends Erica Kirk against online criticism, noting that fundraising emails are typically produced by automated marketing teams, not personally authored, and that Erica is navigating grief while inheriting a large, complex operation.

Throughout, Owens returns to a simple investigative maxim—“follow the money”—linking Kirk’s internal efficiency push to her call for a fuller accounting of both TPUSA finances and the events surrounding his death. She closes by inviting credible tips, promising to correct mistakes, and emphasizing that unanswered questions should be met with evidence, not assumptions.
