According to details highlighted by local reporting, Khila Wood, 29, is accused of pistol-whipping and shooting her ex-boyfriend during an argument in a neighborhood in Dentsville, a suburb of Columbia. She now faces charges of domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature as well as child neglect, highlighting the severity of the situation.
The incident reportedly occurred around 7 p.m. on Nancy Avenue, where Wood, her ex-boyfriend, and their child—who is under the age of 3—were together. Authorities believe tensions between the two adults quickly escalated into a heated argument, setting the stage for violence.
Investigators say Wood allegedly struck the man in the head with a handgun, initiating a struggle over the weapon. Despite the altercation, she reportedly maintained control of the firearm.
