A Georgia courtroom has delivered a swift and decisive verdict in a deeply disturbing domestic violence case that has left a family shattered and a community reeling.
Kelvin Demond Williams, 48, has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus an additional 100 years, after being convicted of murdering his wife and attempting to kill his teenage stepson. The chilling details of the crime—reported by local news outlets and Law&Crime—paint a harrowing picture of control, violence, and a final act that prosecutors described as both calculated and cruel.
The shooting unfolded late at night on July 13, 2025, inside the family’s home in Woodstock, Georgia. According to investigators, a 16-year-old boy made a frantic 911 call, telling dispatchers that his stepfather was shooting at him and had already shot his mother. The teen hid in a bedroom while his 4-year-old sibling slept nearby, unaware of the unfolding tragedy.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they encountered a surreal and unsettling sight: Williams standing in the kitchen, calmly smoking a cigarette. Inside, they discovered Tenisha Williams, 48, lying dead from a gunshot wound. The weapon used in the killing was found nearby.
During the trial, jurors were shown home surveillance footage that captured the horrifying sequence of events. Prosecutors said the video revealed Williams first firing at his stepson, narrowly missing his head. He then turned the gun on his wife, firing multiple shots as she pleaded for her life. As she attempted to escape, he cornered her in the kitchen and fired the fatal shot.
What followed only added to the shock. According to testimony, Williams stood over his wife’s body and uttered “you dead, [expletive]?” before lighting a cigarette and waiting for law enforcement to arrive.
Prosecutors argued that the crime was the culmination of years of manipulation and control. Evidence presented in court suggested that Williams had isolated his wife from friends and family, closely monitored her movements, and exerted dominance over nearly every aspect of her life. In one particularly troubling detail, authorities said he required her to wear a Bluetooth device so he could track her whereabouts.
On the day of the murder, prosecutors said, he even forced her to purchase and load the firearm that would ultimately be used against her.

The jury needed less than an hour to reach a verdict—an indication, officials said, of the overwhelming evidence presented during the four-day trial.
At sentencing, family members described a pattern of abuse that extended far beyond the night of the killing. They said Tenisha Williams had been cut off from her own children and was not even allowed to attend her mother’s funeral—details that underscored the level of control she endured.
The presiding judge called the defendant’s actions “unfathomable,” while the district attorney described the violence as “evil and inexcusable.”
While justice has been served in the eyes of the court, the emotional toll remains. Two children—one who witnessed the violence and another who slept through it—are now left to cope with the aftermath of an unthinkable loss.
As the case closes, it stands as a stark reminder of the hidden dangers of domestic abuse—and the devastating consequences when it escalates unchecked.
