What began as an uncomfortable encounter at work escalated into a deeply disturbing home invasion — one that left a California woman confronting her worst fears in the middle of the night.

Cristian Solorio, 28, has been sentenced to six years and eight months in prison after being convicted of felony stalking and breaking into a residence with the intent to commit a sex act, according to the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office.

Prosecutors said Solorio became fixated on the victim after meeting her at her workplace in February 2025. What followed was a pattern of escalating behavior: repeated visits to her job multiple times a day, unwanted advances, and even a letter expressing his desire to take her to Mexico.

But the obsession didn’t stop there.

According to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office, Solorio began following the woman home, parking outside her residence and watching her daily routine. Investigators said he studied the property, observing family members and testing doors in the days leading up to the attack — behavior that suggested careful planning rather than impulse.

On May 21, 2025, after the woman’s father left the home, Solorio made his move.

He broke inside.

The victim awoke to a scene that prosecutors described as both shocking and terrifying: Solorio sucking and biting her toes and attempting to climb into her bed. In that moment, faced with a man who had already invaded every boundary, she made a split-second decision that may have saved her life.

Feigning calm, she spoke to him in a friendly tone, attempting to de-escalate the situation.

It worked.

Family members soon entered the room and demanded that Solorio leave. He complied and fled the home, but the damage — psychological and emotional — had already been done.

For the victim, what started as unwanted attention became a prolonged campaign of surveillance, culminating in a violation of the one place she should have felt safest.

Now, with Solorio behind bars, there is at least a measure of justice — but the memory of that night, and the quiet terror that preceded it, is unlikely to fade anytime soon.
