Authorities in Missouri have arrested a couple accused of committing disturbing crimes against their young child, a case that investigators say involved drug use, recorded abuse, and a troubling online presence that painted a very different picture of their family life.
Joshua Sinkler, 36, and his wife Amber Sinkler, 31, were taken into custody in St. Charles County after investigators uncovered videos and photographs that allegedly documented abuse of their two-year-old daughter. According to reports summarized by the New York Post and other outlets, prosecutors say the crimes may have occurred repeatedly beginning when the child was still an infant.
The investigation was led by the St. Charles County Cyber Crime Task Force, which discovered several pieces of digital evidence on a phone belonging to Amber Sinkler. Court documents reportedly describe multiple videos and images that appeared to show the child being abused.
One video referenced in the court filings allegedly shows the toddler crying while holding a stuffed toy during the incident.
Investigators say the father, Joshua Sinkler, sometimes carried out the abuse while under the influence of cocaine. Authorities claim the drugs were frequently used during prolonged periods of substance use, which investigators say coincided with the alleged crimes.
Police later searched the couple’s residence—a trailer located in St. Charles—and reported finding cocaine inside the home.
Court records indicate Amber Sinkler acknowledged to investigators that her husband would sometimes behave aggressively and become sexually inappropriate with the child while using drugs. Authorities allege she was aware of the abuse but failed to report it or intervene.
The case has drawn additional attention because Amber Sinkler had maintained a small online presence presenting herself as a family-focused content creator. According to reports, she ran a YouTube channel where she shared videos about family outings, parenting topics, and other everyday moments with her children.
Investigators say the online content sharply contrasted with what they later uncovered during the criminal investigation.
The couple also has another child, a seven-year-old boy, though authorities have not publicly detailed his status as the investigation continues.
Joshua Sinkler now faces multiple felony charges, including child molestation, statutory rape, incest, sexual exploitation of a child, and possession of child pornography. Amber Sinkler has been charged with child endangerment and possession of child pornography.
Both suspects are currently being held at the St. Charles County Jail on a $500,000 cash-only bond.
Officials say the investigation is still ongoing, and authorities are asking anyone who may have additional information or who believes other victims may be involved to come forward.
The case has left many in the community stunned, particularly given the contrast between the family image portrayed online and the serious allegations now facing the couple.
As the legal process moves forward, prosecutors and investigators say their focus remains on protecting the children involved and ensuring that the case is fully examined in court.
