A disturbing case unfolding in Oklahoma City has left authorities searching for answers after a 14-year-old girl was found to be pregnant with twins — and court documents suggest she may have been acting as a surrogate for her own mother and her mother’s boyfriend.

Police began looking into the situation in December 2025 after responding to reports of a possible sexual assault at an apartment complex, according to local station KFOR. What investigators uncovered during follow-up interviews and a referral from Child Protective Services (CPS) raised even more alarming questions.

CPS informed officers that the teen was pregnant with twins and indicated that the biological father could be her mother’s 36-year-old boyfriend.

A Troubling Explanation

According to court records, the girl’s mother told investigators that her daughter had “desperately” wanted more siblings. The mother reportedly said she and her boyfriend also hoped to have children together but were unable to conceive because she had previously undergone a tubal ligation.

The mother denied ever giving permission for her boyfriend to engage in a sexual relationship with her daughter. However, authorities moved forward with a search warrant seeking a DNA sample from the boyfriend to determine whether he is the biological father of the unborn twins.

It is unclear whether that DNA sample has been successfully obtained.

Legal Questions Surround Surrogacy

Even if investigators determine the pregnancy did not result from sexual assault, legal hurdles remain.

Under Oklahoma law, a gestational carrier must be at least 21 years old, according to information from the Oklahoma Bar Association. At 14, the teen would not meet the legal age requirement for surrogacy, raising serious concerns about how such an arrangement could have been allowed.

The case has sparked broader questions about consent, parental responsibility, and whether the teen’s pregnancy could legally or ethically qualify as a surrogacy arrangement.

Protective Custody and Uncertain Next Steps

KFOR reported last month that the teenager has since been placed in protective custody. She is expected to give birth to the twins later this month.

So far, no arrests have been made.

Authorities may face additional complications if charges are filed. Reports indicate the girl’s mother has relocated to the California area after her children were removed from the home. Investigators are also unsure of the boyfriend’s current whereabouts.

The Oklahoma City Police Department says the investigation remains active as detectives continue reviewing evidence and determining possible next steps.

For now, many critical questions remain unanswered — including how the pregnancy occurred and whether criminal charges will ultimately be filed in a case that has stunned the local community.
