An overnight confrontation at a Muskegon County bar escalated into violence early Saturday, leaving three people injured — including a pregnant woman — and ending with a traffic stop and arrest, authorities said.
Michigan State Police reported that troopers were dispatched just after midnight on Feb. 21 to the Black Lotus Tavern on Holton Road following reports of a fight inside the establishment. What began as a heated exchange between two women — one 46-year-old from Walkerville and the other 45-year-old from Hart — allegedly turned physical.
According to investigators, the Walkerville woman is accused of pulling out a knife during the dispute. Three individuals were wounded: the 45-year-old woman from Hart, her 28-year-old daughter, and a 23-year-old man from Hesperia. Police said the injuries were not life-threatening.
Two of the victims were transported to a hospital for treatment, while the third sought medical care independently. Authorities confirmed that the 28-year-old woman, who is five months pregnant, underwent an ultrasound examination and that the fetus was not harmed.
After the altercation, police say the suspected attacker left the scene in a dark blue Jeep Liberty. Deputies with the Muskegon County Sheriff’s Office later located the vehicle near Maple Island Road and 60th Street and conducted a stop. The woman was taken into custody by Michigan State Police.
The investigation remains ongoing.
