Brandi Glanville says she finally has clarity about the mysterious health crisis that upended her life nearly three years ago. The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, who previously revealed she was battling what she described as a “facial parasite,” now believes ruptured breast implants were the underlying cause of her alarming symptoms.

In a recent interview with TMZ, Glanville explained that doctors discovered her long-standing breast implants had ruptured, allowing silicone to spread into her lymph nodes. According to her account, the silicone buildup clogged her lymphatic system, preventing her body from properly fighting off infection and contributing to the severe facial issues she experienced.

“They had completely ruptured,” Glanville said, adding that silicone had migrated throughout her lymph nodes. She believes this blockage played a key role in triggering the infection that manifested in her face and proved difficult to treat.

The revelation came after what Glanville described as an exhaustive and expensive search for answers. Since first going public with her health concerns in 2023, she has consulted 21 doctors and undergone numerous tests, spending significant sums in the process. Despite regular mammograms and routine monitoring over the years, she said no problems had been detected with her implants.

It wasn’t until she requested a sonogram—more than two decades after first getting the implants—that doctors identified the rupture. Glanville said she had kept the implants for nearly 20 years and had no reason to suspect an issue because they appeared and felt normal. Standard screenings, she explained, did not reveal the damage.

Looking back, the 53-year-old now views her experience as a hard-earned lesson about implant maintenance. She acknowledged that medical guidance generally recommends replacing breast implants every 10 years, advice she admits she did not follow. Operating under a mindset of “if it’s not broken, don’t fix it,” she postponed replacement because she believed everything was fine.

“I learned a really, really hard lesson,” she said, emphasizing the importance of staying proactive about health—even when there are no obvious warning signs.

Since receiving the diagnosis, Glanville has had her breast implants removed. She has also undergone noninvasive treatments to address the damage to her face. While she has not shared every detail of her recovery, she has indicated that she is working toward healing after years of physical discomfort and uncertainty.

Despite her ordeal, Glanville has been careful not to discourage others from pursuing cosmetic procedures. Instead, she frames her story as a reminder about vigilance. She maintains that women should feel free to make personal choices about their bodies—but should also commit to regular, thorough checkups and follow medical recommendations about implant replacement timelines.

“Do what you want,” she said, encouraging others to enjoy their decisions while staying informed. Her main takeaway, she stressed, is simple: even if implants look and feel fine, they should still be carefully monitored.

For Glanville, the discovery marks the end of a long and frustrating chapter. After years of searching for answers, she says she finally understands what may have caused her sudden health decline—and hopes her story will help others avoid similar complications.
