Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is alleging that President Donald Trump expressed concern that releasing additional materials related to Jeffrey Epstein could damage people close to him.

In a recent recounting of a private phone conversation, Greene said she urged Trump to make the information public, telling him that supporters believe he “did nothing wrong” and that transparency would clear the air.

According to Greene, Trump responded with hesitation.

“I’m trying to tell him, ‘Mr. President, they say you did nothing wrong. This needs to come out,’” Greene said, describing the exchange. She claimed Trump replied, “Marjorie, my friends will get hurt.”

The comments come amid renewed pressure from some Republicans and conservative activists calling for broader disclosure of records connected to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his network of associates.

Trump has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein and has said he distanced himself from the financier years before Epstein’s 2019 federal arrest. Portions of government files related to Epstein have been released in recent years, while others remain subject to redactions and ongoing legal disputes.

Greene has been among the loudest voices demanding that additional documents be made public, arguing that transparency is necessary to restore trust and counter speculation.
