Kelsea Ballerini appears to be signaling how she feels about her latest breakup from Chase Stokes — without saying much at all.

Just days after confirming that she and the Outer Banks actor had ended their relationship for a third time, the country singer subtly weighed in on a social media post about questionable relationship behavior. On February 10, Ballerini commented on an Instagram video shared by fellow country artist Ashley Cooke. The clip featured lyrics referencing “wandering eyes,” hidden phones, unanswered “I don’t knows,” and the consequences of crossing lines in a relationship.

Ballerini responded with a knowing “Mmmhhhmmm,” prompting Cooke to reply, “You get it.” While brief, the exchange quickly caught fans’ attention given the timing — coming just days after news broke that Ballerini and Stokes had once again split.

Sources confirmed earlier in the week that the couple had broken up, with the latest separation reportedly occurring only days prior. According to insiders, Ballerini is handling this breakup better than previous ones and has decided she is finished with the relationship. Stokes, however, is said to be less ready to let go.

Fans had already begun speculating about trouble after noticing that Ballerini unfollowed Stokes on Instagram, even though he continued to follow her. The pair had recently reconciled at the end of 2025 after a previous split, publicly announcing their reunion on New Year’s Eve with affectionate social media posts.

At the time, Ballerini shared a candid caption about the challenges of the past year, describing it as “messy” but emphasizing her belief in love and growth. She also expressed hope for breaking unhealthy patterns and encouraged followers to focus on their own relationships instead of speculating about hers. Stokes echoed similar sentiments in his own post, reflecting on accountability, personal growth, and learning from mistakes as he entered 2026.

However, according to sources close to the couple, the rekindled romance never quite regained the spark it once had. After their first breakup in September 2025 — following more than two years together — and a second split in November 2025 shortly after reconciling, the dynamic reportedly shifted in ways that were difficult to repair.

Insiders claim that while there was still affection between them, something felt different this time around. The excitement and intensity that initially defined their relationship had faded, and attempts to reignite it felt forced. Additionally, trust issues reportedly remained unresolved, creating ongoing tension.

Ballerini’s demanding career schedule also allegedly contributed to the strain. As her professional commitments increased, distance became more pronounced, complicating efforts to rebuild their connection. Sources suggest that while the breakup was not dramatic, Ballerini ultimately decided the relationship was not meant to last and chose not to prolong something she no longer saw as permanent.

Though neither Ballerini nor Stokes has directly addressed the split in detail, her recent Instagram comment suggests she may be aligning herself with themes of accountability and boundaries — and perhaps subtly acknowledging the lessons learned from a high-profile, on-again, off-again romance.
