A Florida woman is accused of repeatedly stabbing the father of her child after allegedly discovering he was having sex with her sister, according to Miami police.
Jaqueline Rodriguez, 41, has been charged with aggravated battery with great bodily harm following a violent incident that unfolded just after midnight on April 28, 2025, inside an apartment in the 300 block of Northwest 177th Street in Miami.
According to a probable cause arrest affidavit, police were called to the apartment complex after multiple residents reported hearing what they believed were gunshots coming from a first-floor unit. When officers arrived, they found blood smeared across the apartment’s front door.
Officers knocked but received no response. Citing “exigent circumstances,” police forced entry into the unit, where they discovered blood throughout the apartment and a man suffering from multiple cuts and scrapes.
The victim told police he did not hear officers knocking and said Rodriguez attacked him with a knife during a physical altercation. He described the assault as unprovoked and identified Rodriguez as the mother of his child.
According to the affidavit, the man said Rodriguez became enraged after learning he had been having sex with her sister. The confrontation escalated, and Rodriguez allegedly pulled out a knife and began attacking him.
“Based on the testimony of the victim, it is believed Ms. Rodriguez tried to cause great bodily harm and permanent disfigurement,” officers wrote.

The victim declined to provide a sworn statement, but police documented his injuries with photographs. Rodriguez was arrested around 1 a.m. that Sunday morning. Authorities have not explained why the arrest occurred nearly a year after the alleged stabbing.
Rodriguez is also facing additional charges stemming from a separate incident that occurred roughly three months before the stabbing. In that case, police allege she and a male accomplice stole approximately $14,000 worth of property from a vehicle following a car crash, leading to burglary and grand theft charges.
Rodriguez remains in custody at Miami-Dade Corrections and is being held without bond as the case proceeds.
