Lady Gaga took to Instagram to thank Bad Bunny for including her in his 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show performance, calling the collaboration ‘powerful, important, and meaningful.’ Following the high-profile event held on February 8, Gaga recognized Bad Bunny—whose given name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio—for offering her the opportunity to contribute to a show that celebrated Puerto Rican culture and heritage.
“Thank you Benito for including me in this powerful, important, and meaningful performance,” Gaga wrote in a post shared on February 9. “I am so humbled to be a part of this moment. It’s all the more special because it was with you and your beautiful heart and music.”

During the halftime show, Gaga appeared alongside fellow guest Ricky Martin, taking part in a dynamic staging that honored the Caribbean island. The performance saw Gaga, 39, wearing a distinctive light blue, multi-layered dress designed by @chloeandchenelle and @luar, completed by red heels and red flor de maga accents—the national flower of Puerto Rico—pinned to her chest. She and Bad Bunny, 31, performed a salsa number together, adding a personal and vibrant touch to the spectacle.
Gaga also acknowledged her fellow performers and thanked her style team in her Instagram message. “All my love to Benito, Ricky and the whole cast,” she wrote. “Thank you to @chloeandchenelle and @luar for my beautiful styling and fashion. All of your talent and love made that beautiful dress come to life.”

In addition to Gaga and Martin, the halftime show featured appearances by several other artists and celebrities, such as Cardi B, Alix Earle, Jessica Alba, Pedro Pascal, and Karol G. Gaga took the stage with a Latin-infused version of “Die With a Smile,” a song she recorded with Bruno Mars.
Bad Bunny’s performance was rich in cultural symbolism, designed to reflect and honor his Puerto Rican roots. Key moments included opening on a stage modeled after a sugar cane field, depicting traditional scenes such as elderly men playing dominoes and children asleep at celebrations, and showcasing piragua vendors. There were also poignant references to current issues on the island, including Bad Bunny singing atop a model of an electrical pole in reference to power grid instability. The show concluded with Bad Bunny declaring, “God Bless America,” and recognizing countries throughout the Americas, their flags prominently displayed.
Ricky Martin contributed to the celebration of Puerto Rican identity with an acoustic performance of Bad Bunny’s song “Lo Que Le Pasó a Hawaii” (“What Happened to Hawaii”), a track that highlights the importance of preserving the island’s culture. Addressing his participation after the show, Martin stated on Instagram on February 8, “I need several hours to process the tsunami of emotions I’m feeling.”

The energy of the halftime event also extended into Bad Bunny’s digital presence. In the aftermath, the artist removed all previous posts and images from his Instagram account, including his profile picture, leaving only a link to his upcoming 2025 album, ‘Debí Tirar Más Fotos,’ in his bio.
The production was further distinguished by multiple creative segments. Bad Bunny initiated the show dressed entirely in white. At another point, dancers performed around a truck as Bad Bunny sang from its hood, and the performance included scenes of weddings and lively group celebrations. The choreography by Bad Bunny’s dancers garnered much attention, elevating the musical experience.

Through appearances by international stars and a blend of traditional and contemporary elements, Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show was both a tribute to Puerto Rican heritage and a celebration of Latin music’s influence on a global stage.
