Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl 2026 halftime show continues to spark intense debate, and now two former Real Housewivesstars are adding fuel to the fire. Jill Zarin and Taylor Armstrong publicly criticized the performance after the Puerto Rican superstar took the stage at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on February 8.
Zarin, best known from The Real Housewives of New York City, didn’t hold back in a video she posted to Instagram that was later deleted but reshared by fans online. She labeled Bad Bunny’s show “the worst halftime show ever” and argued it was inappropriate for a family audience. Zarin specifically took issue with the fact that the performance was primarily in Spanish and complained that she couldn’t understand what was being said. She also criticized Bad Bunny’s stage behavior, accusing him of being overly sexual and inappropriate for a broadcast watched by children.
Her criticism went beyond the music. Zarin suggested the show felt politically charged, pointing out that she believed the performance featured very few white performers. She speculated it could have been connected to immigration politics and claimed it seemed like an “ICE thing,” saying she felt the NFL had “sold out.” While she insisted she wasn’t taking a political side, her comments implied she viewed the halftime show as more than entertainment.
Zarin also dragged guest performer Lady Gaga into her rant, claiming Gaga looked so different that she didn’t recognize her and joked that she had to Google her face. Zarin, who has been open about undergoing cosmetic surgery herself, suggested Gaga may have had a facelift, though Gaga has never publicly confirmed any such procedure.

Taylor Armstrong, known for her time on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, echoed similar frustrations. She posted an Instagram Story using a meme-style image referencing the movie Gladiator, replacing Russell Crowe’s character with her own face. Alongside it, she wrote that she was “embarrassed” for the NFL and Apple, criticizing the show for being entirely in Spanish and referencing a Cuban flag.
Despite the backlash from Zarin and Armstrong, Bad Bunny’s halftime performance was designed as a celebration of his Puerto Rican heritage. The show featured a sugarcane field set, a symbolic nod to Puerto Rico’s culture and history. Later, the performance shifted to a more festive scene with celebrities like Pedro Pascal, Jessica Alba, Cardi B, Alix Earle, and others dancing on the porch of a house.
The show also included major guest appearances, including Lady Gaga performing a salsa-inspired version of “Die With a Smile,” and Ricky Martin performing “Lo Que Le Pasó a Hawaii.”

While many attendees praised the performance, Zarin and Armstrong weren’t alone in criticizing it. President Donald Trump slammed the show on Truth Social, calling it “terrible” and inappropriate, while Chris Brown also weighed in online, implying the NFL should have chosen him instead.
As reactions continue to pour in, Bad Bunny’s halftime show is quickly becoming one of the most polarizing Super Bowl performances in recent history.
