Authorities in Apopka, Florida are investigating after two siblings were found dead inside a local convenience store late Friday night, leaving the community shaken and searching for answers.
Police say officers were called to Griffin’s General Store just before 9 p.m. Upon arriving at the scene, they discovered a woman and her brother already deceased inside the building. Officials have not confirmed what led to their deaths, and investigators have not yet determined whether the incident was a homicide or a possible murder-suicide.
The Apopka Police Department has released limited information as the investigation remains active. No suspects or additional details have been announced, and authorities have not confirmed whether anyone else was involved.
While police have not publicly identified the victims, local outlet WESH reported that the store owner named the two as Schneita Swift and her brother, Ezra. The owner stated that Swift had previously worked at the store. However, others in the community—including customers and Swift’s ex-husband—told WKMG that she was still employed there at the time of her death, raising questions about the timeline of events leading up to the tragedy.
Friends, customers, and community members have since shared emotional memories of the siblings, describing them as kind and well-loved. One regular customer, identified as Stanley, said Swift had a warm personality and always lifted people’s spirits. He added that both she and her brother were known as good people and were a bright presence in the store.
Longtime family friend Kizzy Ward echoed those sentiments, saying Swift was a sweet person and her brother was equally gentle. She emphasized that neither of them caused trouble and were known for being friendly and lovable.
As investigators continue to examine what happened inside Griffin’s General Store, the deaths of Schneita Swift and her brother have left many residents grieving and waiting for clarity. Police have not provided an update on the cause of death, and the case remains under investigation.
