Prince William and Kate Middleton have publicly addressed the unfolding Jeffrey Epstein revelations, breaking their silence as millions of documents tied to the late convicted sex offender continue to be released. The Prince and Princess of Wales issued a carefully worded statement through Kensington Palace, making clear where their focus lies amid renewed scrutiny of Epstein’s powerful social network and its links to the British royal family.

“I can confirm The Prince and Princess have been deeply concerned by the continuing revelations,” a Kensington Palace spokesperson said in an official statement on February 9. “Their thoughts remain focused on the victims.”

The statement comes as newly released Department of Justice files have reignited global attention on Epstein’s connections, including those involving Prince Andrew, William’s uncle. Andrew, now known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, has long faced controversy over his association with Epstein, despite repeatedly denying allegations of sexual abuse. The fresh document dump has placed renewed pressure on the monarchy to respond, even as senior royals continue to distance themselves from Andrew’s past.

Among the recently disclosed materials were emails referencing Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, including a message sent to Epstein in 2010 that drew public criticism. While Ferguson and Buckingham Palace declined to comment on that revelation, the resurfacing of such correspondence has contributed to the sense of unease surrounding the royal family’s proximity—direct or indirect—to Epstein.

William and Kate’s statement aligns them with other senior royals who have emphasized concern for survivors rather than institutional self-defense. Prince Edward, King Charles III’s youngest brother, also weighed in recently, underscoring the importance of centering those harmed. “I think it’s all really important always to remember the victims,” he said during a public appearance, adding that there were “a lot of victims in all this.”

King Charles and Queen Camilla previously addressed the fallout from Andrew’s friendship with Epstein when the decision was made to strip Andrew of his royal titles and public duties. In an earlier palace statement, they said, “Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”

Andrew himself acknowledged the toll the controversy had taken on the monarchy, stating that the ongoing scrutiny had become a distraction from the royal family’s work. While he has denied all allegations and settled a civil lawsuit without admitting wrongdoing, his removal from royal duties marked a significant moment of reckoning for the institution.

For William and Kate, the latest statement signals a deliberate effort to draw a clear moral boundary. As future king and queen consort, their response reflects a broader shift within the monarchy—one that prioritizes accountability, public trust, and empathy for victims amid a scandal that continues to cast a long shadow over the world’s elite.
