Gina Torres was not home when burglars allegedly broke into her Los Angeles residence and stole approximately $225,000 in cash and jewelry, according to reports citing the Los Angeles Police Department.
The burglary occurred on Friday evening, Jan. 30, at the actress’s home in the Sherman Oaks neighborhood. Authorities said two male suspects arrived at the residence around 7 p.m. local time and gained entry by smashing a window.
According to police, the suspects stole roughly $25,000 in cash and more than $200,000 worth of jewelry before fleeing the scene in a white sedan. Officers responded to the home after a neighbor reportedly witnessed the break-in and called police.
LAPD officers swept the residence but were unable to locate the suspects, who had already fled by the time police arrived. No injuries were reported.
Torres, 56, is best known for her role as Jessica Pearson on Suits and more recently for her work on 9-1-1: Lone Star. She has spoken in recent years about the renewed attention she’s received following Suits’ resurgence on streaming platforms.
“I don’t know what to make of it, honestly,” Torres said in a 2025 interview about the show’s renewed popularity. “It has gotten harder to walk through airports, that much I can tell you.”
The investigation into the burglary remains ongoing, and police have not announced any arrests. Anyone with information related to the incident is encouraged to contact the Los Angeles Police Department.
