A Missouri woman accused of violent domestic attacks was finally taken into custody after an unexpected and very public appearance tipped police off to her whereabouts.

According to a criminal complaint, Jameicia Moore was arrested after attending a Berkeley City Council meeting in January, despite being wanted for multiple violent offenses. Moore is charged with two counts of domestic assault and two counts of armed criminal action stemming from incidents last fall.

The alleged attacks occurred in October and November 2025 in Berkeley, a small city northwest of St. Louis. On October 22, police say Moore became enraged after hearing her boyfriend mention another woman. According to the complaint, she grabbed a butcher knife and stabbed him in the left arm.

After the stabbing, the victim began recording on his cellphone, authorities said. The video allegedly shows blood running down his arm while Moore is heard saying, “You’re lucky I didn’t stab you in the f–ing chest,” according to the charging document from the Berkeley Police Department.

Weeks later, police say another violent incident followed. On November 11, Moore allegedly grabbed a baseball bat during an argument and struck the victim in the left leg, causing bruising. Once again, the victim recorded the encounter, and Moore was allegedly seen on video wielding the bat.

After the second incident, the victim contacted police, who attempted to interview Moore. According to the complaint, she refused, telling officers she had no reason to speak with them and would not respond to police requests.

Then, on January 12, 2026, Moore attended a Berkeley City Council meeting — a move that stunned law enforcement. Officers present at the meeting recognized her and detained her after she allegedly drew attention to herself by openly criticizing police.

Major Steve Runge of the Berkeley Police Department said Moore’s appearance was shocking. “Are you kidding me?” Runge told KTVI. “Because we were trying to get her to come talk to us and she just refused.”

Moore was detained in a hallway outside the meeting and taken into custody. She was initially held on a $100,000 cash-only bond, which was later reduced by a judge to $15,000.

St. Louis County Prosecutor Melissa Price Smith praised police for recognizing Moore at the meeting. “They were really on top of their game — very aware,” she said. “It’s actually quite surprising that she then appeared at the Berkeley City Council meeting two months later on a completely different matter.”

Moore is scheduled to appear in court next on February 17, 2026.
