A Florida doctor’s routine shopping trip reportedly ended with flashing lights, handcuffs, and a grand theft charge.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Lindsey Jae Minshew, 40, was arrested on January 23 after being accused of stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise from a Target store in Jacksonville. Police charged Minshew with grand theft of an amount between $750 and $4,999.

Investigators say the alleged theft occurred at a Target location on River City Drive. A store employee contacted authorities, reporting that the suspect had taken $2,716.61 worth of merchandise. Law enforcement did not disclose which items were allegedly stolen.
Online booking records show that Minshew was taken into custody the same day. According to the arrest report, officers determined that a black 2024 Porsche 911 connected to Minshew arrived in the area roughly 30 minutes before she entered the store.

Local outlet Action News Jax reported that Minshew has been a licensed medical professional in Florida since 2012, citing records from the state’s Department of Health. The contrast between her profession and the allegations added an extra layer of intrigue to the case.
Police also noted another unusual detail during the arrest: the Porsche associated with Minshew had been reported stolen and was located by officers at the time she was taken into custody.
Minshew was released from jail on January 24, one day after her arrest. Court records do not indicate whether she has retained legal counsel, and no further details about the case have been made public.
