Katie Miller, better known as the outspoken wife of Stephen Miller and the voice behind The Katie Miller Podcast, landed herself in hot water on Monday thanks to a social media blunder straight out of Tabloid Land.
In a post aimed squarely at California Governor Gavin Newsom, Miller managed to take an accidental swipe at her husband’s boss, Donald Trump—without even realizing it.
Miller hopped onto X, formerly Twitter, to mock Newsom for attending the Davos Economic Forum, which kicked off in Switzerland this week. ‘Of course Gavin Newsom is going to Davos,’ she scoffed, laying on the sarcasm. ‘Nothing screams America First like cozying up to the world’s power players. You either stand for America or you can take a seat.’

One problem: Trump has his own reservation at the Davos summit and is expected to hobnob with precisely the kind of international elites Miller was mocking. Internet users wasted no time pointing out the embarrassing oversight. Replies and screenshots flooded Miller’s feed, with one commenter snarking, ‘Might want to double-check before taking shots,’ and linking to a breaking Reuters piece confirming Trump’s plans to attend and court business leaders midweek.
Trump isn’t making the trip just to shake hands and pose for photos. According to Bloomberg insiders, the ex-president is pitching his pet project—the controversial ‘Board of Peace,’ a shiny new international group he wants to chair personally. The draft charter promises to ‘promote stability, uphold lawful governance, and secure lasting peace in conflict-prone regions.’ Oh, and according to sources, Trump expects countries to cough up $1 billion to join.

Who’s on the VIP invite list for this dramatic Davos signing ceremony? Heavyweights like Russia’s Vladimir Putin and Belarus’ strongman Aleksandr Lukashenko got the call. But French President Emmanuel Macron axed Trump’s offer outright on Monday, worrying the initiative is just another sneak attack on NATO.
For Miller, it’s another installment in her ongoing grudge match with Newsom—last month she dubbed California a ‘hellhole’ on X, flexing her credentials as someone even more hardline than her famously strict husband. Newsom, never missing a chance to troll his critics, clapped back by flooding X with brag-worthy photos of California icons: the Golden Gate Bridge, Redwood forests, postcard-perfect coastlines, and rolling farmlands.
Guess when it comes to messy political beef, you should always check who else is on the guest list before firing off that next spicy hot take.
