A San Antonio family is living every parent’s worst fear after their 16-year-old daughter vanished, leaving behind mounting signs that her disappearance may involve grooming or human trafficking.

Trinidad Ramirez says his daughter, Isabella, disappeared on the afternoon of January 10 after leaving their home in San Antonio. Speaking through tears to KENS 5, Ramirez said he believes someone deliberately lured the teenager away.

During the broadcast, Ramirez delivered a heartbreaking message directly to his daughter, wherever she may be.

“Mija, fight, fight for yourself,” he pleaded. “Try to get a phone, try to do something. Please, do whatever you can to get away from what you’re in.”

The fear intensified this week after an official from Search and Support San Antonio told the station she had spoken with someone claiming to be Isabella. The contact was made using a phone number provided by one of the teen’s friends, but authorities say the case is still being treated as a missing persons investigation.

Ramirez says the hours before Isabella vanished now feel ominous. He had grounded her earlier that morning after discovering she had left the house overnight. Fearing she was communicating with someone dangerous, he attempted to take away her phone and tablet to cut off contact.

“I believe this is a grooming situation,” Ramirez said, adding that he fears his daughter may have been trafficked.

Using phone records, Ramirez tracked Isabella’s movements to a nearby home shortly after she disappeared. When he rushed to the address, she was gone.

The unanswered questions have left the family spiraling. Ramirez says the anxiety has robbed him of sleep, but he is trying to stay strong for his loved ones.

“I’m holding strong for my family,” he said, fighting tears. “But I love my daughter. And I want her home.”

Search and Support San Antonio has begun distributing flyers and issuing urgent pleas online, warning that no 16-year-old should be harbored.

“The pressure is on. Eight days is far too long,” the group said in a statement. “Doing so is illegal. Isabella’s family is asking for her to be dropped off at a Walmart or another safe public location. She will be picked up immediately, with no questions asked.”

The group added: “We know there are people who know exactly where Isabella is. We are asking you to do the right thing and help bring her home safely.”

Isabella, known to family and friends as Izzy, is described as 5’3 with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing gray pants, a dark brown hoodie, and Birkenstocks. She has a distinctive birthmark near her belly button.

Anyone with information has been urged to contact the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office at (210) 335-6000 or Safe and Sound San Antonio at (210) 338-0027.

For now, a father’s plea hangs in the air, echoing through a city on edge: if someone is holding Isabella, let her go.
