Chaos rocked downtown West Palm Beach late Wednesday night after a car smashed through the front doors of the Paul G. Rogers Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in a deliberate act, police allege.

Authorities say Lanesa Stubbs, 55, is the woman behind the wheel of this shocking midnight crash that happened just after 11:15 p.m.

Witnesses and cops recount that the drama didn’t end there—Stubbs allegedly fled the wrecked courthouse but didn’t get far before officers tracked her down and slapped on the cuffs. The damage? An eye-watering $200,000, according to officials, as shattered entrances and structural chaos turned a federal courthouse into a crime scene overnight.

Stubbs now faces a serious rap—a felony charge of criminal mischief, police confirmed Thursday. No motive has been revealed yet for her bold and destructive stunt. This federal building, usually a symbol of law and order, instead became the unlikely center of a late-night car crash caper that’s left the city buzzing.
