Drama turned disaster at Lake Shore High School as one furious mom took things way too far! Crystal Royster, 42, from Michigan, was slapped with jail time after authorities say she phoned in not one, but two bogus bomb threats – all because her daughter was kicked out of the school play for being under the weather.

Judge Michael E. Servitto threw the book at Royster last week, sentencing her to a fortnight behind bars, followed by an 18-month probation stint. Court documents reveal Royster already served three days in lockup. Prosecutors struck a deal allowing her to plead guilty to a felony count of making a bogus bomb threat – dodging the possibility of up to four years in a state prison cell.

The wild episode went down on March 12, 2025, according to a statement from the Macomb County Prosecutor. Furious that her child was barred from the production per school policy – because her daughter went home sick that day – Royster made two alarming calls to Lake Shore High in St. Clair Shores, claiming explosives had been planted on campus.

Cops swooped in, evacuated more than 700 terrified students and staff, but thankfully, found nothing dangerous after scouring the grounds.

Police lights activated on an Evansville Police Department vehicle.

Royster’s punishment isn’t just limited to time inside. She’s banned from contacting victims of her threats, must alert the school before setting foot on its property, and is ordered to complete a Class A course on impulse control. Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido ripped Royster’s scare tactics, saying in a bombshell statement that her acts triggered a massive emergency response and rattled the whole community – even if the judge believed probation was enough.

Meanwhile, her lawyer Daniel Garon kept mum when reporters reached out for comment. This over-the-top performance landed Royster a spot in the headlines – and a front-row seat in the county jail.
