It’s been more than a month since 15-year-old Ashlynn Hanley vanished from Port Orchard, Washington, sparking a wave of concern—and a major police investigation.
The teen was last spotted on December 10, decked out in a bubblegum pink jacket, climbing into a car registered to Lavelle Cotton, 45. After that? Nothing but silence.

Authorities say Hanley had recently left a juvenile facility, still wearing an ankle monitor. Her mom, Jade Hanley, revealed to NBC News that Ashlynn was living with her grandma and had been dropped off at school the morning she disappeared. But the security device didn’t last—police tracked its signal near a local bowling alley before she removed it, according to reports.
Now cops desperately want a sit-down with Cotton, who’s driven a champagne 2011 Buick Enclave—the same car Ashlynn was last seen heading into on surveillance tape. Though investigators have managed to reach Cotton by phone, Deputy Chief Alan Iwashita says a face-to-face interview has yet to happen. Cotton, who reportedly goes by aliases “Money Making Prince” and “Little P Dog,” stands 5 feet 9 inches and weighs about 130 pounds. Police stress that he’s not charged with any crime, but he remains a crucial person of interest in this worrying case.
As for Ashlynn, she’s described as 5’1”, roughly 102 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Cops are urging anyone with tips to step forward as the desperate search continues for answers—and for Ashlynn herself.
