Former Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene erupted Friday after an Axios report claimed White House officials flagged her to the United States Secret Service over suspicions she tipped off protesters about an unannounced dinner attended by President Donald Trump.

The Axios report said aides believed Greene may have alerted activists tied to Code Pink about Trump’s quiet visit last fall to Joe’s Seafood in Washington, D.C. The dinner was intended to highlight Trump’s crime-reduction push following the deployment of the National Guard. Instead, protesters confronted the president inside the restaurant, shouting, “Trump is the Hitler of our time.” Trump later called for those protesters to be jailed.

Greene flatly denied any role in leaking Trump’s plans, saying she merely suggested the restaurant to a member of the president’s staff and had no knowledge of when the reservation was scheduled. She said responsibility lay with the White House and the Secret Service, not her.

“This is an absolute lie, a dangerous lie,” Greene wrote in a furious post on X, accusing the White House of retaliating against her for pressuring the administration to release files related to Jeffrey Epstein. “I would NEVER EVER do anything to endanger anyone.”

According to Greene, she had “zero involvement or knowledge” of Trump’s dinner plans beyond recommending Joe’s and sharing its phone number with the president’s team. She said the White House alone arranged the reservation and never informed her of the date or time.

Greene also questioned why standard security protocols were not followed. She accused the Secret Service of failing to sweep the restaurant, set up metal detectors, or screen patrons, measures she said are routinely used at public events involving the president.

“The story you should be writing is why didn’t Secret Service secure the restaurant?” Greene wrote. “Why didn’t they do any of their normal security protocols?”

Code Pink rejected the Axios allegation outright, calling it “comical” and denying any coordination with Greene. The group said it had no contact with her and no advance tip from her office.

Greene emphasized that the dinner took place in September, months before her relationship with Trump soured. She noted that at the time, she said, the two were still on good terms. “Even now,” she wrote, “I would NEVER do what they are accusing me of.”

She also pointed out that she defended Trump as recently as Thursday during an appearance on The View, arguing that the claim she would undermine or endanger him made no sense.

“I’ll be calling my attorney,” Greene said, warning that the accusation was false and defamatory. “Anyone saying this is true is absolutely lying.”
