A Texas woman is facing a murder charge after police say she fatally stabbed her uncle during an argument that reportedly escalated over household responsibilities.

Ashley Marie Siebenaller, 32, was arrested on January 3 and charged with murder in connection with the death of her uncle, Tony Vernon Graham, 64. According to an arrest affidavit, Graham was stabbed once in the chest on December 26 inside a home the pair shared in Fort Worth.

Investigators say Siebenaller and Graham were living together in the living room of the house, along with two other roommates. One roommate told police they heard the uncle and niece arguing shortly before the stabbing. The roommate said they went to take a shower, and when they returned, Graham was found lying on the floor with a stab wound.

According to the affidavit, Siebenaller was sitting silently on a nearby couch, covered in blood. A bloodied knife was found on the floor and later moved by the roommate to a nearby table before officers arrived. Graham was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police initially questioned Siebenaller at the home, but officers noted that she appeared unable to verbally communicate, instead writing her responses on paper. “Officers initially believed she was non-verbal,” the affidavit states.

During a follow-up interview with investigators on December 30, police say Siebenaller was able to speak verbally. She initially denied stabbing her uncle but later allegedly confessed, claiming Graham had stabbed her in the mouth first. Investigators reported finding no injuries consistent with that claim.

According to the affidavit, Siebenaller also told police that Graham had “pissed her off” and had told her she needed to start cooking.

Despite the alleged confession, Siebenaller was not arrested at that time and was allowed to return home. Police say the situation escalated days later when one of the roommates called authorities on January 2, reporting that Siebenaller was standing outside their bedroom holding a knife and making them feel unsafe.

An arrest warrant was issued the following day, and Siebenaller was taken into custody on January 3. She is currently being held on a single murder charge, according to Tarrant County Jail records.
