Minneapolis is in uproar after right-wing firebrand Megyn Kelly tore into Mayor Jacob Frey, accusing him of fanning the flames of unrest in the wake of a deadly ICE shooting.

Kelly, known for her blunt podcast takes, blasted Frey for unleashing a profanity-laced tirade after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer shot and killed Renee Nicole Good, 37, inside her car on Wednesday.

With outrage swirling, Kelly charged that Frey was goading his own city into chaos. ‘He wants to burn Minneapolis down with his own words,’ Kelly declared, joining a chorus of conservative commentators pushing the Trump administration’s narrative. That storyline – repeated by top officials like Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem – branded Good as a ‘domestic terrorist’ who, they claim, tried to mow down ICE agents in a violent act. ‘Today, ICE officers in Minneapolis conducted targeted operations when rioters began blocking them,’ insisted DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin in a statement. ‘One violent rioter weaponized her car in an attempt to kill our officers – that’s domestic terrorism.’

But raw footage from the scene told a messier story, sparking a furious backlash from Mayor Frey. The Democratic leader called an explosive press conference, slamming what he described as a ‘garbage narrative’ spun by Trump allies and right-wing media. ‘They’re already selling this as self-defense,’ Frey boomed. ‘I’ve seen the video myself – that’s pure [expletive]. An ICE agent went too far and killed someone.’

In a jaw-dropping moment, Frey demanded ICE pack up and leave. ‘To ICE, get the [expletive] out of Minneapolis! You’re not wanted here – you claim you’re keeping us safe, but all you’re doing is wrecking lives and stoking fear,’ he roared. His anger hit boiling point as he blamed the sudden influx of federal immigration officers for tearing the city’s social fabric. Just weeks earlier, the White House had deployed some 2,000 additional ICE agents, citing fraud investigations and linking the Somali community to state-level scandals, a move critics say demonized immigrants and inflamed tensions.

Unsurprisingly, Kelly and her MAGA media peers pounced, ripping Frey for what they saw as reckless, incendiary rhetoric. In the aftermath, protests erupted across Minnesota, sending demonstrators into pitched confrontations with armed police and federal forces. ‘Mayor Frey, get a grip,’ Kelly fumed on social media. ‘That officer nearly got run down by someone accelerating at him.’

With the city gripped by protests and politicians trading barbs, Minneapolis stands on a knife’s edge, the feud over ICE’s role showing no signs of cooling down.
