Homeland Security chief Kristi Noem is shaking things up after a dramatic fatal incident in Minnesota, urging Americans everywhere to show some love for ICE officers.

Hot on the heels of an explosive confrontation that left Renee Nicole Good dead at the hands of an ICE agent—in what Noem branded an act of ‘domestic terrorism’ after Good allegedly rammed her vehicle into law enforcement—the Secretary didn’t mince words at a heated Thursday press conference on January 8th.

U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem reviewed the department’s efforts during the first nine months of the administration at a news conference in Bradenton, Florida on Oct. 20, 2025.

Standing before reporters and cameras in New York City while discussing a fresh ICE crackdown, Noem seized the moment to call on everyday citizens: with ‘Law Enforcement Appreciation Day’ landing on January 9th, she told the public to step up, buy ICE agents lunch, and find ways big or small to thank law enforcement for risking it all. ‘Do something nice,’ she pressed, making it clear she wants folks to back the blue in the wake of the Minnesota turmoil.
