Pop superstar Pink began 2026 from a hospital bed, revealing she underwent neck surgery as the new year arrived.

The singer, known for her high-flying aerial stunts and physically demanding live performances, shared the update with fans in a New Year’s message posted to Instagram. Alongside the caption, Pink shared a photo of herself wearing a hospital gown with a large bandage wrapped around her neck.

“It may not be a fancy facelift, but I am getting two new shiny discs in my neck,” she wrote, adding with characteristic humor, “Rock ‘n’ roll is a contact sport.”

Pink, whose real name is Alecia Hart, reflected on the year she was leaving behind, calling 2025 “a doozy” that ranged from “absolutely devastating to mildly annoying.” She said the end of the year marked a turning point in how she treats her body.

“I’ve realized dreams this year, as well as nightmares,” she wrote. “And I end the year giving reverence to, paying attention to, and to fixing my body.”

As she spent New Year’s Eve alone in a hospital room, Pink noted that her family — husband Carey Hart and their two children, Willow and Jameson — were away snowboarding. Despite that, she said the moment felt purposeful.

“A new scar, a new reminder, that I appreciate this vessel that I have and use it for all it’s worth,” she wrote. “I know that 2026 is going to be better because that is the choice that I have made.”

The singer has long been outspoken on issues including women’s health, reproductive rights, and antisemitism, which she has said she has personally experienced.

“I choose joy and I leave behind the hurt,” she wrote. “I’m going to rage against the dying of the light. I’m going to reclaim my wild. And I’m going to keep searching for the light, even as I experience the darkness.”
