Big Brother is in mourning as shockwaves ripple through the reality TV world after Mickey Lee, beloved contestant from the show’s latest series, tragically passed away at just 35 years old.

Mickey’s heartbroken family announced her death Friday on Instagram, revealing she lost her battle after a tumultuous fight with critical health complications.

Lee’s rise to fame began on Big Brother’s 27th season, where she captivated viewers with her raw honesty and magnetic personality. Many remember her for the strong connections she forged in the house, lasting 59 days before landing in 10th place, ultimately receiving six eviction votes. The Atlanta-based reality star left her mark on fans, fellow contestants, and the show itself.

The sad story unfolded earlier in the week when her loved ones revealed that Mickey had been hospitalized following repeated cardiac arrest incidents triggered by severe flu complications. She spent her final days surrounded by family and medical staff in the ICU, fighting for her life. The dire situation led her family to set up a GoFundMe to help cover mounting medical costs—including complicated specialist care and rehabilitation bills not covered by insurance. By December 26, the fundraiser had already crossed $32,000, racing towards its $40,000 goal.

Mickey’s passing has left the Big Brother community gutted. Reality stars rushed to pay tribute on Instagram, sharing emotional memories and heartfelt condolences. Rachel Reilly, iconic competitor from seasons 12 and 13, expressed deep gratitude for the short but meaningful time she spent with Lee, writing, “Her light will never be forgotten. My prayers go out to her family—Mickey, you are missed, rest easy.” Bayleigh Pelham, who nabbed the winning title in Big Brother Canada’s 12th season, called the loss “heartbreaking,” praising Mickey for her kindness and unforgettable spirit: “She brought so much beauty into our lives—the world feels dimmer without her.” Mecole Hayes, from season 25, simply described the news as “devastating,” sending love to all affected.

Lee’s memorable stint placed her among popular castmates like Vince Panaro, Will Williams, Rylie Jeffries, and Keanu Soto—fan favorite of the season. Ultimately, the grand prize of $750,000 went to Ashley Hollis, but Mickey’s legacy of joy and authenticity will echo far beyond her time in the Big Brother house. The reality TV star’s untimely death has left fans and friends reeling, as they remember a woman who truly made her mark both on and off screen.
