Absolute horror unfolded on Seattle’s downtown streets earlier this month when 75-year-old Jeanette Marken became the latest victim of a savage attacker infamous among local cops.

Surveillance footage, shocking in its brutality, captured the scene as Marken, minding her business by the King County Courthouse, was ambushed from behind. As she stood at a street corner, her would-be assailant crept up and delivered a devastating blow using a wooden plank embedded with bolts and screws.

Police have identified the suspect as 42-year-old Fale Vaigalepa Pea, a name officers know all too well. Bodycam clips, also released, reveal law enforcement immediately pegging Pea as the culprit. ‘Is that Fale Pea?’ an officer is heard exclaiming before confirming to colleagues, ‘He’s notorious for random assaults on Third Avenue.’

Marken was left clutching her face, bloodied and disoriented, as appalled bystanders raced to her aid. The vicious strike left her permanently blind in one eye, derailing her life in a split second. Witnesses said Pea, eerily unfazed, casually strode away after the brutal act.

Photos released by law enforcement detail the crude weapon used—an ordinary board, twisted into something far more sinister with metal pieces protruding from its surface. Family members shared images of Marken in recovery, underscoring the heavy toll of the unprovoked attack.

This incident is just the latest in a string of random assaults believed to be tied to Pea, raising serious questions about how such a notorious repeat offender remained free to roam the city’s streets unchecked.
