Texas woman Camille Benson, 33, found herself behind bars after causing chaos in Biloxi, Mississippi, where police say she hid razor blades and even a fish hook inside Walmart bakery goods. Benson landed a hefty $100,000 bond at the Harrison County Adult Detention Center following her arrest for attempted mayhem.
The drama erupted earlier this December when worried shoppers bit into danger at two area Walmarts—one on CT Switzer Sr Drive, the other on Pass Road—discovering the sharp objects tucked into loaves of bread and muffins. Employees, tipped off by horrified customers, called Biloxi cops on December 5. The bread scare snowballed, with new complaints and more blades found in muffins and tampered packages day after day.

Store staff, on high alert, traced the sabotage to packaging pierced from the outside—no accidental drop. Surveillance cameras snapped images of Benson, and police quickly released photos, asking for public help. The manhunt ended Tuesday after officers tracked her down on Division Street, thanks to a tip-off.
So far, detectives haven’t figured out why Benson targeted these stores, but officials say no other Walmart locations are affected. Biloxi police urge anyone who bought baked goods at the two stores to check their loaves carefully and report anything suspicious.

Walmart, in damage-control mode, reassured customers it’s yanked all suspect products and performed thorough inspections, promising cooperation with investigators. “Customer safety is our top priority,” the company declared, advising anyone who suspects tampered bakery items to dump them and seek a full refund at their local store.
