Shockwaves hit Massachusetts as Brian Walshe, 50, is convicted of the chilling murder and dismemberment of his wife, Ana Walshe, 39—a well-known real estate executive and mother of three, whose sudden disappearance on New Year’s Day 2023 launched a frantic investigation.

Initially spinning a wild story, Brian insisted Ana vanished after heading to the airport for a supposed work emergency. Yet, what unfolded would become a twisted saga drenched in deception and gore. On January 4th, 2023, Brian dialed Ana’s Washington, D.C.-based employer, feigning concern and asking about her whereabouts, triggering police involvement.

Police tape off a crime scene, Saturday, July 6, 2024, on the 2600 block of Ridgecrest Drive in Florence, Ky.

Evidence paint a gruesome picture: Ana’s boots, clothing, and purse cropped up in local dumpsters, mixed in with grim tools—including a hacksaw smeared with what prosecutors say was blood. Still, Ana’s body has never been found.

In court, prosecutors dropped a bombshell: Brian ran a series of chilling Google searches—from how to use a saw on a body to scrubbing blood from wood floors—shortly after Ana’s vanishing act. The mountain of digital footprints left jurors reeling.

Brian’s defense attorney, Larry Tipton, stunned the court, admitting Brian panicked after discovering Ana dead in bed at 2:30 a.m. and decided to conceal her death, supposedly worried about their three kids’ futures. Tipton argued Brian’s internet queries were born out of fear, not malice.

But the jury wasn’t buying it. Five hours after deliberations began, they handed down a first-degree murder guilty verdict, as confirmed by MassLive, WHDH, and CBS News.

Walshe’s criminal history added more fuel to the fire—he’d previously pleaded guilty to federal art fraud back in 2021, and in 2024 received a 37-month prison sentence for the scheme. On top of the murder conviction, he also admitted to improperly moving a body and lying to police just as jury selection got underway.

Prosecutors maintained Brian’s motive was simple: rage over Ana’s suspected infidelity drove him to violence, and his every move after reeked of calculated cover-up. Meanwhile, their children are left to grapple with the unimaginable loss and devastation hitting the Walshe family.
