MAGA’s one-time firebrand, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, has come out guns blazing against ex-president Donald Trump, tearing into his policies and declaring that they’re no longer in line with the America First ideals she once championed. In an explosive sit-down with ’60 Minutes,’ Greene, who used to side with Trump on nearly every vote—98% of the time, to be exact—now accuses her former ally of selling out his grassroots supporters.
The Georgia congresswoman hasn’t held back in her criticism, blasting Trump for what she sees as abandoning kitchen-table concerns like affordability, while cozying up to big-money sectors like cryptocurrency and Big Pharma. “These corporate giants are cashing in, but ordinary Americans are left stranded. Trump isn’t listening to the people—he’s listening to the lobbyists and the donors,” Greene charged during the broadcast.

U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is seen Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, at the Trump caucus night watch party at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines.
The split between the two right-wing figures isn’t new, but Greene is drawing a hard line over issues like the soaring cost of living and Trump’s apparent lack of focus on domestic policy. In her dramatic resignation video, she slammed his recent decisions, insisting the real MAGA movement is being left behind while big industries walk away with the spoils. “Our president was supposed to put Americans first—but now, he’s just making sure his backers in crypto and pharma get what they want,” she said furiously.
While Trump has famously brushed off concerns about affordability—shrugging them off as a ‘Democrat hoax’—Greene insists “the pain is real,” saying it’s hitting voters at every level, especially in her own district. Her fiery comments have sent fresh shockwaves through the GOP and the MAGA camp, signaling that Trump’s grip on his loudest loyalists might not be as iron-clad as it once seemed.
