Fireworks are erupting within GOP ranks as party members take Marjorie Taylor Greene to task for ditching her House duties after telling the nation she was done with Congress. Greene, who stunned Washington on November 21 by quitting her Georgia seat after a run of spats with top Republicans, MAGA diehards, and even Donald Trump, has now blown off every vote this week—fueling outrage from her soon-to-be-former colleagues.
Maryland Representative Andy Harris didn’t mince words, telling The Hill, “If you step up for a two-year term, you owe voters your full service. Walking out is her call, but it sure lets people down.” Florida’s Randy Fine was even more scathing, snapping, “Honestly, I’m relieved she’s on her way out. The sooner she’s gone, the better. Greene was never in this for the cause—just for herself.”

The drama follows months of tension, with Greene butting heads over the release of bombshell Epstein files and blasting the administration’s approach to the Gaza war. In her exit video, Greene said she refused to be ‘a battered wife’ clinging to hope and claimed she was stepping down to preserve her dignity. Her term ends January 5, but since her resignation announcement she’s become a ghost in the chamber, skipping every House vote.
To add more fuel, Greene has refused to throw her support behind any hopefuls vying for her soon-to-be-vacant 14th district spot—a move that’s ticked off insiders even further. Fine, who’s frequently sparred with Greene on Israel and Gaza, put it bluntly: “She’s in it for herself. If you’re out, walk out the door. This game-playing just blocks the special election and shows her true colors.”

One more Republican lawmaker chimed in, stressing the basics: “Every member has a duty to vote, and it seems Marjorie couldn’t care less anymore. It’s a letdown, but you can’t change people.”
And as for Trump? The ex-president unleashed a tirade online, slamming Greene as a ‘ranting lunatic’ and a ‘traitor’ after she turned up the heat over his foreign policy and called for transparency on Jeffrey Epstein. The fallout: Greene’s farewell is splitting the party, with some GOPers relieved—and others just frustrated by the chaos left in her wake.
