A Fox Business host ignited controversy after claiming that women become “hotter” when they join the Republican Party, turning a segment about Sydney Sweeney’s latest culture-war flareup into an on-air beauty pageant for conservatives. Katrina Campins appeared Monday on Jesse Watters Primetime, where the pair riffed on the reaction to Sweeney’s American Eagle advertisement and descended quickly into partisan absurdity.
“She’s getting hotter, and they’re so jealous,” Campins said, referring to Sweeney. “They’re like, ‘She’s so Republican,’ she gets hotter by the minute, right?” Campins then issued advice for women: “Our side is better, and you get hotter, right? All Republican women are hot! Tell me that’s not true.”
“It is true,” Watters replied, laughing. “So when you register Republican, you just get hotter.”
Campins doubled down. “You do! It’s like you get hotter with age. Like, you get wiser and hotter. It’s like good wine, like the wine you sent,” she shouted, pushing the segment into even stranger territory.

The remarks came in response to a broader controversy surrounding Sweeney’s appearance in an American Eagle ad titled Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans. Critics argued the “jeans/genes” pun veered uncomfortably close to eugenics messaging. Former MSNBC host Krystal Ball, speaking on the I’ve Had It podcast, accused Sweeney of courting “right-wing, ethno-centric white nationalists” and called her “embarrassing and pathetic.”
Sweeney, who has largely stayed out of political fights, brushed off the uproar in an interview with GQ. “I simply did a jean ad,” she said. “The reaction definitely was a surprise, but I love jeans. All I wear are jeans.”
This isn’t the first time Sweeney has been thrown into the political crossfire. In 2022, she faced backlash after photos circulated of guests at her mother’s birthday party wearing parody MAGA hats. At the time, she dismissed the outrage as “wild,” insisting the celebration was innocent and not intended to make any political statement
