Georgia has been rocked by a shocking crime after 16-year-old Taylor Hamilton was fatally shot by a 15-year-old boy as she sat quietly, headphones on, just steps from her front door while waiting for her Uber. The tragic incident unfolded on November 27 in Clayton County, authorities report.
Devastated mother Nandi Hamilton says her daughter fell victim to a chilling act of violence simply because she chose to remember her late boyfriend. According to Nandi, Taylor was targeted by a group of teens who resented her for keeping her boyfriend’s memory alive. ‘They couldn’t stand that she kept talking about him. That’s what got them riled up,’ she told local reporters from WSB.

Disturbing doorbell camera footage shown by Taylor’s family reveals the moments before the nightmare began. The video allegedly captures the teen suspect—already worked up and taunting Taylor after a Thanksgiving get-together—brandishing a firearm. Taylor, unshaken, brushes off the threats, telling her tormentor, ‘I don’t care about no gun,’ and tries to ignore him.
But things quickly escalated. The young assailant, allegedly fueled by anger, confronts Taylor. In an instant, a verbal clash turns deadly as gunfire erupts, striking Taylor down just minutes before her ride arrived.
Nandi Hamilton, now mourning her daughter, didn’t mince words about the alleged shooter: ‘He’s a monster. My daughter was just minding her business, listening to her music, and he killed her in cold blood. I can’t understand how someone could be so heartless.’

Police have since taken the 15-year-old boy into custody. Due to his age, his name is being withheld, but charges include malice murder, first-degree cruelty to children, possession of a firearm as a minor, and using a gun during a felony. Investigators believe Taylor may have been deliberately lured to her death.
This senseless slaying leaves a community in mourning, as loved ones demand justice for a teenager who was simply waiting for a ride home.
