Sisters, scandal, and Dunkin’ Donuts: Monroe County just got a headline-grabbing murder mystery. Authorities say Jamie Busch, age 53, throttled her own sibling, Penny Busch, 62, inside Penny’s Ontario Street house near Honeoye Falls, NY, way back on October 8th, 2024. But this crime doesn’t stop at cold-blooded killing.

According to investigators, after Penny was allegedly murdered during a violent clash, Jamie didn’t flee the scene. Instead, she made a pit stop for coffee—dropping three of Penny’s cellphones in the trash at a local Dunkin’ Donuts before making her exit. Not satisfied with covering her tracks, Jamie reportedly carted the body away days later, dumping her sister’s remains into the Genesee River and sparking a huge police search.

A new Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins combination drive-thru is opening soon at 701 N. Fourth Street in Chillicothe.

Cops arrived at Penny’s sprawling eight-acre property on October 11th to check on her. Suspicion soared when deputies couldn’t find her, triggering an all-out hunt involving search dogs and aerial drones. Eventually, tips sent investigators straight to the riverbank in Rush, where Penny’s body was recovered three days into the search. The grim find quickly led police to charge Jamie Busch with murder and evidence tampering—but they’re keeping tight-lipped about what made the family feud turn deadly and what crucial clues cracked the case.

Sheriff Todd Baxter refused to spill on any motives, telling the press that details would stay under wraps until the trial gears up. The accused, who worked as a school paraprofessional at Honeoye Falls Middle School, has been found fit to face a jury—the legal showdown is scheduled for February 3rd, 2026.

The quiet town of Honeoye Falls, just 18 miles south of Rochester, is rattled. Locals are left wondering what could have ignited such a brutal saga between siblings. Stay tuned—this is one courtroom drama that’ll have Upstate New York talking for years.
