Stunning beauty queen Elizabeth Kalash and her father found themselves at the heart of a terrifying drama on the streets of Melbourne, when a trio of would-be carjackers tried to steal her ride in broad daylight. The incident unfolded just after midday on Tuesday, December 2, in Coburg—instantly turning a quiet neighborhood into a crime scene.
Kalash, 28, famed for her stints as a Miss Universe Australia finalist, sprang to her dad Amir’s defense as chaos erupted. Her 60-year-old father was run over, battered, and left sprawled on the ground fighting for his safety. She told 9News, “It was pure adrenaline. The moment I saw my dad attacked, I didn’t hesitate. I had to shield him.”

CCTV captured the drama as it intensified outside a home on May Street. According to police, it all started when Amir spotted an unknown man lurking inside a grey Hyundai parked nearby. Moments later, the confrontation exploded—Amir challenged the mystery man, only to be ambushed when a stolen silver Lexus (license plate ‘SAMWAN’) screeched up and two more assailants jumped out, a man and a woman ready to join the fray.
Elizabeth rushed from inside after hearing her father’s cries and landed in the middle of the melee. Her instincts as a protective daughter took over, as she battled with the intruders who shoved, assaulted, and even tried grabbing her. The suspects, unable to keep control of the situation, dropped valuables in the scramble, fled, but then returned to snatch up what they’d left behind—and during the chaos, Amir’s foot was crushed under a tire. He was quickly hospitalized, suffering serious injury but is now on the mend.
“We’re recovering but honestly, we’re still reeling from the shock,” Elizabeth revealed, clearly still shaken by the day’s madness.
Victoria Police have since published photos of the thugs behind the botched attack. Officers say the suspects—a pair of men and a woman, all aged between 35 and 40—are wanted for questioning. One man, described as Middle Eastern and roughly 5’9”, wore a black cap, hoodie, sunglasses, and blue pants. The second, who police believe to be aboriginal and about 5’7”, sported a brown ACDC T-shirt, dark pants, and a black hat. Investigators have made the images public and urge anyone with information to come forward as the hunt for justice continues.
