The mystery surrounding the vanished American tourist on a luxury Caribbean cruise has just taken a dramatic twist! Investigators say someone with missing woman Ann Evans’s passport has checked into a hotel—hours after she failed to return to her ship.

Evans, 55, set sail aboard Holland America Line’s Rotterdam from Fort Lauderdale on November 16, bound for a string of idyllic stops like St. Lucia and Barbados. But when the ship docked in Philipsburg, Sint Maarten on November 20, Evans hopped off for a bus trip to Marigot, French Saint Martin. She was last seen leaving the ship, but never came back—instead, she seemed to vanish into thin air.

Local police sprang into action, launching intense searches and following every lead under strict legal protocol. On Thursday, authorities revealed a bombshell: a woman matching Evans’s description had checked into a hotel on the French side of the island using her own passport. Eyewitnesses claim they spotted her in the nearby area as well, but no official confirmation yet.

Police from Sint Maarten admitted they’re now working hand-in-glove with their French-side counterparts to track down answers. Law enforcement is combing hotel records and investigating every reported sighting, determined to crack the case wide open.

The cruise liner says they immediately contacted police when Evans disappeared, and officials are pleading for Evans herself to get in touch and prove she’s safe if she hears about her own missing person alert.

With Holland America’s cruise scheduled to return to Florida on November 28, both authorities and loved ones are scrambling for clues as the clock ticks and the intrigue deepens around Ann Evans’s mysterious disappearance on the high seas.
