A quiet neighborhood in Swindon was upended late Friday night after police responded to what they described as a “disorder” inside a home and discovered a woman dead at the scene. The victim, 55-year-old Sarah Forrester, was found unresponsive around 7 p.m. on Nov. 21, according to Wiltshire Police. Officers said she was not breathing when they arrived and was pronounced dead inside the home.
No other injuries were reported, and police quickly moved to secure the area while investigators began piecing together what happened. A 13-year-old girl was arrested that night on suspicion of murder and taken into custody for questioning. Authorities have not explained the nature of her connection to Forrester, nor have they released any details about how Forrester died. Because the girl is a minor, her name has not been made public. She was released on bail two days later while detectives continue their work.

Forrester’s death has rattled the community and the people who knew her. A mother of two, she worked as a mental health counselor at The Kelly Foundation, a local organization focused on supporting people in crisis. The foundation posted a statement saying staff were “heartbroken at the sudden loss of our lovely Sarah,” describing her as devoted to both her clients and her young children.

Neighbors echoed those sentiments. A 15-year-old boy named Jayden told the BBC that Forrester was a “well known” figure on the street where she had lived for seven years. He described her as kind and dependable, someone who “would put everyone else before herself.”
Police have released few details as they wait for forensic results and continue interviews, but detectives say the investigation is moving forward. The lack of a clear motive has only intensified concern in the neighborhood, where residents are waiting for answers in a case that has left a deep sense of shock.
For now, investigators are urging the public to come forward with any information while family, neighbors, and colleagues grieve the sudden loss of a woman remembered for her compassion and generosity.
