A court is poised to force the sale of the Hidden Hills, California mansion owned by rapper Nicki Minaj after a former security guard won a default judgment exceeding $500,000 and still remains unpaid. The Independent reports that Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Cindy Pánuco signalled she is ready to grant a motion allowing the home, listed at nearly $20 million in value, to be sold to satisfy the debt owed by Minaj and her husband.

The dispute stems from an incident at a 2019 concert in Germany, where the guard, Thomas Weidenmüller, alleged that Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, punched him from behind, breaking his jaw, after Minaj hurled insults and a shoe at him. Weidenmüller claimed eight surgeries and multiple plates inserted into his face. He ultimately secured a default judgment of $503,318, because the defendants did not respond to the suit.

According to court filings, Minaj purchased the Hidden Hills home in October 2022, and it is listed as her sole property. A mortgage of about $13.3 million is recorded against it. The judge said the only outstanding piece needed before granting the sale motion is a detailed bank statement showing how much of the mortgage has been paid. Although the home’s appraised value is roughly $20 million, the equity after lien and exemptions is estimated at around $6 million — well above the judgment amount.

Minaj’s legal team has not publicly responded to the story. Meanwhile, the security guard’s legal filings emphasise that despite the rapper’s reported net worth of $150-190 million — and her status as the highest-paid female rap star in the world — payment has not been forthcoming.
