Congress just got a jolt: firebrand Marjorie Taylor Greene, longtime Trump cheerleader and one of Georgia’s most polarizing politicians, is bowing out. The shocking news dropped Friday, when Greene took to X with a sprawling resignation letter, venting her disgust with what she dubbed the corrupt ‘Political Industrial Complex.’ According to Greene, DC insiders are just playing ordinary Americans for fools in a never-ending power struggle.

But not everyone is shedding tears. Jasmine Crockett, the outspoken Texas Democrat, unleashed a blistering takedown on CNN’s ‘State of the Union’ Sunday morning. Crockett couldn’t hide her disbelief, telling host Jake Tapper, ‘Seriously? She survives one week in the crosshairs of Trump, can’t handle the pressure, and throws in the towel? Try stepping into my shoes—dealing with hatred and threats from all directions, not just the MAGA crowd.’

Trump—once Greene’s closest ally—slammed the door shut earlier this month, yanking his endorsement and hurling insults, even labeling her a ‘ranting lunatic.’ The fallout started when Greene broke ranks, demanding the Justice Department release files tied to Jeffrey Epstein—a move Trump called ‘traitorous.’ The rift has widened, with Trump lashing out at other renegade Republicans too, including Thomas Massie and Lauren Boebert, who dared sign a petition for the files’ release.

Despite Trump’s fury, Crockett pointed out that plenty of Republicans have survived his wrath. ‘They stood their ground,’ she declared, ‘so why can’t Greene?’ Crockett didn’t stop there, suggesting Greene finally feels the sting of her own brand of divisiveness. ‘She has spent years stirring up hate in the MAGA movement,’ Crockett said, ‘but now the mob’s turned on her.’

As Greene says goodbye to Capitol Hill, she leaves behind scorched earth—and a possibly reshuffled deck in the GOP. With the party deeply split, the drama is only getting thicker. Stay tuned, because if you thought D.C. was wild before, the shake-ups have only begun.
