Reality TV firecracker Jen Shah is counting down the hours to freedom! The infamous star of ‘The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’ is set to walk out of a Bryan, Texas correctional facility any day now—less than three years after landing behind bars.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons gave Shah, 52, the green light for a December 10 release, chopping down her original six-and-a-half-year stint thanks to her good behavior, active participation in prison programs, and some repayment progress on the hefty $6.5 million court-ordered restitution tab. Shah has been making headlines since February 2023, when she started serving time for her role in a nationwide telemarketing scam—a case that shared prison walls with notorious inmates Ghislaine Maxwell and Elizabeth Holmes.
Those close to Shah are thrilled with the early exit. “This decision by the jail authorities means Jen gets to reunite with her loved ones just in time for the holidays—a blessing she won’t soon forget,” her manager, Chris Giovanni, revealed to People. He also claimed Shah’s time out of the spotlight has sparked real personal change. “She’s grown, reflected, and is ready to focus on family above all. No more drama—it’s all about building a better future.”
Shah’s arrest was a spectacle filmed on camera, shaking Bravo fans right to their cores during Season Two. She and longtime assistant Stuart Smith fell under the FBI’s radar after allegedly orchestrating a years-long con targeting senior citizens. According to prosecutors, Shah and her crew promised business support—like pro website creation—only to push victims further into the abyss, even flipping contact lists to other scammers. All the while, Shah’s luxury lifestyle—a staple of the show—was bankrolled by dirty money.
Initially proclaiming her innocence and even joking on air, “the only thing I’m guilty of is being Shah-mazing,” Shah changed her tune and pleaded guilty in July 2022. During sentencing, she finally faced the music, stating, “I’m sorry. My actions hurt innocent people. I’m working hard to pay them back.”
