According to the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, 30-year-old Baylee Jordan Graham was arrested early Tuesday morning after an incident that began as a welfare check and spiraled into an arrest for battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, and misuse of 911. Deputies were first called to a McDonald’s shortly after midnight when employees reported that a woman had locked herself in the bathroom and refused to leave. When a responding deputy arrived and asked her name, Graham allegedly provided a fake one and remained uncooperative.
She Called 911 – For A Ride

After several minutes, she came out of the restroom and told the deputy she needed to charge her phone so she could call someone for a ride home. The deputy obliged, letting her use a charger. But when Graham finally placed a call, it wasn’t to a friend or a rideshare service — it was to 911. According to the arrest report, Graham told dispatchers she was at a nearby Circle K and needed a ride home. The deputy warned her that misusing the emergency line was a criminal offense and even offered to drive her home herself. Graham declined. Then she called 911 again. And again.
Things Escalated Quickly

Dispatchers quickly alerted responding officers that Graham was making repeated calls for non-emergency assistance. Deputies say they told her multiple times to stop, but she ignored them and continued dialing. In total, investigators later determined that Graham had placed 14 separate calls to 911 that night to ask for a ride. When the deputy approached Graham to detain her, she allegedly turned around and hit the officer in the face, shouting “Don’t touch me!” and using an expletive. Additional deputies arrived on the scene to help take her into custody as she reportedly resisted arrest, blocking the patrol car door with her foot.

Even after she was restrained, the situation didn’t de-escalate. While in the back of the patrol car, Graham made a chilling remark, according to the arrest report. The deputy wrote that she overheard Graham mutter something “about not being prepared.” When asked what she meant, Graham allegedly replied: “In any other situation, I would have probably killed you.” Graham was taken to the Alachua County Jail, where she is being held on $35,000 bond.
