A 22-year-old woman in Wyoming is facing a string of felony charges after what authorities described as a violent, alcohol-fueled argument that spiraled out of control. Elizabeth Deore was arrested last month in Wright, a small town about 200 miles north of Cheyenne, after deputies say she chased her husband through their home with two different kitchen knives during a late-night fight. She’s been charged with two counts of felonious restraint, one count of aggravated assault, and one count of misdemeanor domestic assault.

According to an affidavit from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the couple’s home around 11:39 p.m. on October 15 after receiving a 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance. The caller told dispatchers that Deore was running through the house armed with a knife and threatening to kill her husband. Minutes later, the same caller said Deore had cornered her husband, holding him against a wall while striking him with her free hand. Deputies arrived to find the husband sitting in the living room, shaken but uninjured. A knife lay on the floor nearby. Deore, who appeared intoxicated, was found lying on a bed in the bedroom.

The Fight Began Over Another Woman

Witnesses told investigators the fight began earlier that evening after Deore discovered that her husband had been messaging another woman. The couple had been drinking tequila with friends when Deore’s mood changed abruptly. According to the witnesses, she sent her husband out of the house with another man, then cut up his ID cards and poured bleach on his clothes. When her husband returned, the argument reignited. Deore allegedly grabbed a fillet knife from the kitchen and began slashing at him while shouting threats. When he locked himself in the bathroom, she reportedly stabbed the door, yelling, “I’m going to kill you,” until the blade bent. She then grabbed a butcher’s knife and continued the chase after he emerged.

Deore Was So Angry She Had A Seizure

The chaos ended only when Deore collapsed. Her husband told deputies she appeared to “overheat,” so he placed her in a cold shower. Medical personnel later said she likely suffered an epileptic seizure brought on by stress and high body temperature. After being treated and cleared at a hospital, Deore was booked into the Campbell County Detention Center. Deputies documented knife marks across the bathroom door and other damage inside the home.

Her Husband Still Thinks She’s A Great Gal

Despite the allegations, Deore’s husband has since come to her defense. In a letter to the court, he called her “an amazing mother and a better wife,” adding that “she might have a short fuse but she has never done anything like this before.” As of this week, it remains unclear whether Deore is still being held in custody or when she will next appear in court.
