Texas Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett isn’t one to back down from a fight — especially when the former president takes aim at her intelligence. In a new interview, Crockett pushed back hard against Donald Trump after he singled her out during a press gaggle, calling her “a low IQ person.” Her response was sharp, funny, and pointedly political: “He doesn’t even know what a low IQ is.”

Trump Can’t Stop Going After Jasmine Crockett

Trump’s comments came while he was answering unrelated questions aboard Air Force One, riffing on everything from the possibility of a third term to his recent hospital visit. He detoured into an attack on two Democratic lawmakers — Crockett and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez — mocking their intelligence and bragging about his own cognitive test results from Walter Reed. “They couldn’t come close to answering any of those questions,” Trump said, as though daring them to compete in a quiz show of his own making.

Mess With The Bull And You Get The Horns

Crockett clapped back, “He’s never been known to be an Einstein,” she said. “This is someone who, but for being born with a silver spoon, probably wouldn’t have gotten into anybody’s institution — unlike me.” She added, “I really wish for the sake of this country and honestly for the sake of the world that he would focus on his real job and stop worrying about me.” Her broader point was clear: the former president’s insults have less to do with her and more to do with his fixation on women of color who challenge his authority. “You have a president of the United States who consistently is obsessing over two women of color in the House,” she said. “You have a lot more power than we do, but obviously you consistently feel threatened.”

Crockett Sees The Ballroom As The Greatest Offense

Crockett’s comments came amid a deepening government shutdown and growing public frustration over stalled SNAP benefits. She accused Trump of being out of touch, saying “He’s putting more money into his son’s pocket while families can’t afford $6 a day to eat,” she said. “He’s focused on a ballroom that no one asked for while farmers are filing for bankruptcy.”

She Wants Us To Take The “Third Term” Talk Seriously

Rep. Jasmine Crockett asks questions during Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle’s congressional hearing Monday.

She also warned that Trump’s talk of a “third term” should be taken seriously. “People need to listen to what he’s saying,” Crockett said. “That’s a very scary thing. It’s unconstitutional, and he’s already getting people primed for it.” She continued, “We have a president obsessed with his ego while Americans are begging their government to do the basics,” she said. “That’s what’s really low — not IQ, but empathy.” Her closing message was blunt. “He can’t hire me or fire me,” she said. “My constituents will decide that. But if he keeps ignoring the people who put food on the table, they might just fire him.”
