A Florida woman has been charged with first-degree murder after police say she brutally killed a man inside a Holiday Inn near Miami International Airport before hiding his body under a bed and draining his bank account. According to a criminal complaint, 39-year-old Elizabeth Hernandez allegedly beat, slashed, and even bit Jason Anderson to death inside the hotel room on June 19, 2024. His body was discovered the next day by a maintenance worker who had entered the room to fix a phone line. When the worker moved the bed to access the wall, he reportedly found Anderson’s remains and immediately called 911.
Surveillance Footage Brought Her Down

Police say Anderson checked into the Holiday Inn Express expecting to leave the next morning. Surveillance footage from the hotel shows Hernandez entering the room with him, along with another man later identified as 41-year-old Yoan Guzman-Zequeira. The next day, investigators say, cameras captured Hernandez and Guzman-Zequeira leaving the property with several bags — including a white plastic bag that police believe contained hotel bedding or towels. Guzman-Zequeira, officers noted, appeared to be wearing different clothes than when he first arrived — possibly Anderson’s.
After Leaving The Hotel She Emptied Her Victim’s Bank Account

By the time she left the hotel investigators believe Hernandez had already killed Anderson and hidden his body beneath the bed. She then allegedly used his debit card to withdraw thousands of dollars in cash and make a series of purchases that emptied his bank account entirely. The pair was later seen at Casino Miami, where they met up with another man. That man told investigators he mentioned needing somewhere to rest, prompting Guzman-Zequeira to take him back to the Holiday Inn — not realizing what was hidden under the bed.
There Was Blood All Over The Hotel Room

According to police, the witness described the hotel room as “dirty and in disarray.” He said Guzman-Zequeira grew angry when he began moving things around and told him to stop touching anything. The witness said he “felt uncomfortable” and quickly left the property. Hotel surveillance footage reportedly corroborates his account. When officers arrived after the maintenance worker’s discovery, they found blood on the hallway wall and doorframes. An autopsy revealed Anderson suffered blunt force trauma, multiple lacerations to the face, bite marks, and hemorrhaging in his neck. The Miami-Dade Medical Examiner determined his cause of death was “homicidal violence.”
Aside From Murder She’s Charged With Grand-Theft

In addition to the murder charge, Hernandez faces counts of grand theft and fraudulent use of a credit card. Court records show she is being held without bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Guzman-Zequeira and the unnamed witness have not been arrested or charged.
