Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) urged Republicans to negotiate and reopen the government. She argued premiums could more than double without extending Affordable Care Act tax credits and said notices of higher rates are imminent. Citing a poll showing broad support for compromise, Murray criticized GOP leaders and President Trump for focusing on politics over solutions, and accused House Republicans of being absent while the Senate repeats failed votes. She called for immediate talks to fund the government and address health costs, warning that delays will price families out of coverage and strain hospitals.
